Dark Days of Winter

I have to admit that I have been considering giving up the blog. It just feels like one more thing in which I'm behind. But, I've decided instead of giving it up completely, I will just give myself permission to be inconsistent as to the frequency of my posts. 

As well, this relentless winter seems to be burying me in its depths.... but when I play with these pictures and stare at the faces of those I love soooo dearly, I realize how blessed I am and how bright life is......now, snow, you can melt away, because next post WILL include an outdoor Easter Egg Hunt! hmmm....

Mid January, Warren and Jackie McCaig and their two beautiful daughters visited us for a few days.

Umm....at first this was pretty, now I am just so ready for spring. There are parts of our backyard where the snow is nearly up to the top of the fence!

Zal has been working on his jumping skills. At this point they were pretty weak as he could barely clear a small pack of diapers. They have greatly improved since!

On Feb. 13, I took care of two adorable girls!! Zal and Anaiah get to be ringbearer and flower girl in June!

Adalyn now takes one bottle/day. Its been a work in progress but she's doing it!

Cozy

One day Adalyn was sick and Zal felt neglected. I promised him if Adalyn had one more nap, we would paint. This was it....baking soda, food coloring and vinegar.

After about 30 seconds, Zal discovered he got much bigger and better results when he ditched the dropper and poured the bowls completely in the baking soda! Oh, the giggles!

He did this over and over and over

again....until I ran out of vinegar!

Addy is our little inchworm.

She scooted slowly to Zal's space shuttle. He was not happy!

I let Adalyn play in the tupperware drawer. Zal, too thought he should play with tupperware.

She is trying soooo hard to bum scoot. So far she moves slowly by rocking back and forth!

We've been having Family Movie Nights every now and again...Zal is watching Cars (it's going to take us many movie nights to finish the movie) with his Cars' slippers....the only time he wears them!

We went to the Winter Shines Festival a few weeks back....

Adalyn got cold after awhile....but it gave us a few minutes of fresh air. Eventually, Dave got home and Zal and I continued...sledding off of the drifts in our front yard. UNBELIEVABLE!!!

One sunny day when it was actually above zero!

It was a huge adventure getting to this park w/ the stroller, but we did it and Zal was happy!

Zal has been into making cookies with play dough. He's so cute....always asks if the oven is on before putting them in....always covers them w/ tea towels and lets them rise....he has bread and cookies mixed up, but it's super cute!
